La Xixa Teatre

President and Co-founder of La Xixa Teatre, he has wide experience in the field of Educational Theatre, Social Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed undertaking performing and trainings. He holds a Degree in Social Psychology (School of Social Psychology of Argentina, 1987) and is a specialist in Process Oriented Psychology, trained by the Process Work Institute of Barcelona. He worked as a social psychologist at the School of Social Psychology of Argentina "Enrique Pichon Riviere", and as a trainer for inmates in the Provincial Penitentiary, among other projects. He received training in theater and social intervention with numerous experts. Since 2007, he develops his professional tasks as an expert in community empowerment and active citizenship projects, with an average of 15 projects every year. As part of La Xixa Teatre, he has worked for over seven years as an actor, Curinga/Joker, and workshop facilitator for numerous groups, locally, nationally and at an international level.



La Xixa Teatre

PhD in Social Communication (Pompeu Fabra University, 2016). Graduated in Economics (University of Salamanca, 2009) and obtained a Master’s Degree in Communication and Design (Elisava School of Engineering and Design, 2010). She specializes in online/offline participatory communication, intercultural communication and advertising and public relations for the social third sector. She has worked as university teacher and researcher, as well as communication coordinator for various organizations and projects at local, national and international level. She currently works with La Xixa Teatre as a research and European project coordinator, and as Theatre of the Oppressed facilitator. She has published book chapters and articles in highly indexed academic journals. She is currently doing her postdoctoral research at the Complutense University of Madrid.



Storytelling Centre

Producer and director, mainly in the field of storytelling performances, and spends a large part of his professional life listening to stories and training people in the art of storytelling. Until 2017 he was responsible the program for the International Storytelling Festival Amsterdam, which he founded in 2008, and other festivals and he regularly coaches storytellers, both amateur and professionals. With Soufiane Moussouli he created the performances Moroccans don’t cry and Gelukzoeker and with Arabi Ghibeh Into the Light. Recently he directed Next to Normal, Palestinian Stories Untold, a performance with four performers from Palestine, in collaboration with Ashtar Theatre from Ramallah, and The Man who Danced Alone, a performance of Charafe Ennaji, the only professional male bellydancer in Morocco. In 2019 he was invited to open the Jornadas del Día Internacional de la Narración Oral in Madrid with the performance Planet Europe. He is responsible for setting up a Human Library in the West of Amsterdam and for coaching participants of this Human Library and other community projects. Arjen teaches Storytelling and Presentation at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. He also delivers training for professionals in how to use storytelling in youth work and community work in several places in the world. Last years he trained people from Hungary, France, Morocco, Palestine, Israel, Germany, Spain, Albania, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Greece and the UK. Arjen Barel studied Drama Studies and Cultural Studies at the University of Amsterdam. In addition to his work within Bureau Barel he teaches at various courses and put together the book Theatre & Marketing, Tension & Thrill (2004) in collaboration with Esther Lagendijk. In 2020 he published a new book about Applied Storytelling, called Storytelling en de Wereld (Storytelling and the World, how sharing stories can contribute to personal growth and social impact). Currently the book is translated to English and Turkish.



Képes Alapítvány

MSc in economics and project manager in Képes Alapítvány. She has more than 15 years of experience as a project manager. Before she joined Képes. Éva worked for a company - focusing on consultancy and advisory services for tenders – for 8 years. She was responsible for preparing and writing grants (in the field of job creating investments and helping local companies to enter foreign markets, among others), as well as managing projects, organizing events. She also has an interest in collaborating with artists, she helped to get funding for artistic projects.

She studied as a Social Worker and simultaneously began her training in the arts as a way to know herself and the surrounding environment. She later began training the professional social community “Women of Matagalpa in Nicaragua”. She has studied dramatic writing, voice education, theatrical collective creation, theatre sociology and Theatre of the Oppressed with highly renown experts. As part of La Xixa Teatre, she has worked for over seven years as an actress, Curinga/Joker, and workshop facilitator for numerous groups, locally, nationally and at an international level.



Elan Interculturel

MA International Relations, Central European University Budapest. Vera has been an intercultural trainer since 2001. For Vera art is a powerful methodological ally in the development of intercultural skills: the encounter with diverse works of art helps to perceive both what is universally human and what has a diversity of cultural interpretations.  As a process, immersion in artistic creativity gives rise to the same competences we need for any encounter with the other: self-reflection, managing emotions, dealing with uncertainty, openness to change.  Her mission in the Rebelah project is to practice this connection between art and interculturality through elements of cultural heritage.



Képes Alapítvány

President of the Board of Trustees and the coordinator of international projects in KÉPES. She has an MSc in economics and an MA in Cognitive Psychology. She is taking part in a PhD program at the Psychiatry of Semmelweis University (Hungary). She has a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) consultant certificate launched by the Hungarian Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies and a cognitive behavioral therapist certificate issued by EABCT's (European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies).



University of Groningen

Born and raised in rural northern New Zealand. After studying theology and ritual in the US, he developed a love of manuscripts of the Middle Ages. Receiving his PhD in Medieval Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2012, he was awarded a postdoc at Yale's Institute of Sacred Music, before teaching in New York City, being part of a research team in Cologne, and, in 2016 taking up his current position as Assistant Professor of Religion and Cultural Heritage at the University of Groningen. Andrew's research focuses on the use and adaptation of religious manuscripts in the Middle Ages. At Groningen he coordinates the MA in Religion and Cultural Heritage, teaching on critical heritage theory, material culture, and museums and religion. He also coordinates an inter-religious and inter-disciplinary BA minor programme in Art and Religion.



Fundació Ibn Battuta

MA in International Relations, Security and Development and works as an employment consultant and project implementer at the Ibn Battuta Foundation, which focuses on working with migrants for a full inclusive and real citizenship in order for them to achieve the same rights as people born in Spain. She has coordinated and taken part in the Third Meeting of the International Network of Feminist Organizations from Central America and the Mediterranean against Male Violence; that took place in Casablanca, Morocco. She has also worked as a volunteer translator for the Human Rights Institute of Catalonia.



University of Groningen

Author, travel writer and journalist specialising in Muslim heritage and culture. He is the creator of Britain's first Muslim heritage trails; the producer of an award-winning BBC radio documentary about America's earliest mosques, and the author of several Lonely Planet guides. Tharik is a Fellow at the University of Groningen's Centre for Religion and Heritage, and his forthcoming book: Minarets in the Mountains; a Journey into Muslim Europe (Bradt: June 2021) is the first by a Muslim travel writer to explore Europe's indigenous Muslim culture, communities and heritage.



Elan Interculturel

MA History, specialising in Greek Antiquity, University of Nanterre, Paris. Théo has been working at Elan Interculturel for two years as a Civic Service and Project Assistant. Théo has worked for a few years as a historian on the formation of the Founding Myths and their transmission. The study of the evolution, change and reappropriation of these elements of cultural heritage through art shows the richness of this process. Theo was then trained in interculturality within Elan and this double path explains his mission in the REBELAH project to bring Art and Interculturality into resonance through the prism of cultural heritages.



University of Groningen

Specialist in two fields: late medieval reform in the Low Countries and the re-use of the medieval in contemporary popular culture. Both are connected to heritage. In the Netherlands, the adherents of the most important reform movement, the Devotio Moderna, were traditionally seen as the first embodiment of what it means to be Dutch. The recreations of medieval religions in TV-series and film gives a perspective on the role of religion in present day society. She is very active in outreach activities and teaches in the Master Religion and Cultural Heritage at the University of Groningen.



University of Groningen

Historian at the University of Groningen, whose research has illuminated different dimensions of the encounter between secularism and religion in modern Europe. He published a monograph Secularism and Religion in Nineteenth-Century Germany: The Rise of the Fourth Confession, Cambridge UP, 2014 (winner of the Jacques Barzun Prize for Cultural History). Since 2017 he has been director of the Center for Religion and Heritage, which engages with international partners to promote education and research into the interaction of religion and heritage. In 2022 his coedited Handbook on Religion and Heritage will be published.
